A temple dedicated t the lack of belief in a deity? that seems rather silly.

Nothing wrong with building a tower and exhibition to celebrate life on earth, but it is utterly stupid to call it a 'temple to atheism'.

I think its a silly idea.

To 'celebrate' the world, I prefer to go out in it. Instead of seeking out a replica of it ;-))

Temple to Atheism doesn't even sound right. A monument to Life that doesn't attribute it to the creative powers of any sky-daddies is fine. I like that idea, but it's a celebration of life rather than a temple to atheism...

    No.
Let's continue being aggressive and destructive. I like it better that way. Besides, how can there be a temple dedicated to non-belief, let alone one meant for the non-religious? It just doesn't make sense.

Only "true" believers need edifices in which to gather to obsequiate before their imaginary god. We have no need for this dog and pony show.

This guy is going to be the focal point for theists insisting atheism is a religion. Essentially it's setting the atheist movement back in time. We already have places to celebrate the natural world; they're called museums. Furthermore, I don't know how anybody could describe Dawkins as destructive; I, and I'm sure most other atheists, think of him as a very temperate and compassionate man.

The French revolution set one up and called it "The Temple of Reason". It resulted in millions of deaths.

My first thought was "That's just silly".

But on reflection, I don't mind and if done right - could be interesting. Though I wouldn't call it a Temple to Atheism - that's close to an oxymoron.

But something showing a view of the universe as inspiring, beautiful, poetic... without invoking the supernatural might well be interesting.

What a ridiculous idea, there are people living destitute on the streets, and this dufus wants to emulate religion by wasting money, time and effort on building a temple to nothing?
And as for insinuating that atheism is regarded as destructive, I think that's even more short sighted, certainly the religious would say that, but then they would because atheism goes against their beliefs, atheists would not have churches and temples torn down, we'd have them put to better use, as housing or educational facilities.
If you wanted to visit a temple to atheism, you could go to a science museum, it's a far better use of your time and you might find out something you didn't know before.
