You can buy DVDs on eBay that are already synched together. I have one. If you've never seen it, it is very wild. Just don't expect the movie to lip synch with the CD. It's more like the music changes with the mood of the movie and some of the lyrics go right along with scenes in the movie. I highly suggest you try it.

Yes. It's really cool. If you happen to have both of them, try it out. Here's how it works: Put "The Wizard of Oz" in your VCR (I'm not sure how the DVD works, but I imagine it's similar to VHS). Put "Dark Side of the Moon" (preferrably cd) in a player that will continously loop. Start playing the Wizard of Oz. When Leo the MGM lion roars the third time, start playing Dark Side... and mute Wizard. You may have to try it a few times to get it right. I did. For some extra tips/help go to http://www.confusio.com/issue2/wizoo.html it's fairly detailed about the lyrics/movie scene matching up. Hope this helps :D

Here is an MTV report discussing the synchrocity, along with excerpts. I find it startling how well they synchronize.

Just adding to other answers. I have done it before and it will blow your mind. It isn't just mood changes and other coincidental changes. The thing that made me a believer was that whenever the witch enters the scene highly similar music plays, when it rains in the movie the music has raining sounds in it, the music switches perfectly with all the of the developments in the story (going to the munchkins, Kansas, etc). Really the only people who will say it is a coincidence are the ones who have never tried it. I highly recommend doing it. What do you have to loose?

Sort of... like someone already said- its more the mood of the music changing with the mood of the movie... however- the movie is much longer than the album... so the music runs out before the end of the movie.

In my much younger days my friends and I ingested -- lets just say -- some chemicals. We found that no matter what album you put on the turntable, it always matched the story in Wizard of Oz.

In hindsight, it makes sense. I guess.
