I try to minimize it, but I'd say 10%-15% spoils on me.

For example, I bought a dozen (ant-free) bagels at Costco last week. I managed to eat 4 of them before the rest went moldy.

As much of a deal as Costco bagels are, I'm probably better off buying 2-4 at a time from my local Safeway.

Almost zero, I had for brekkies, two softboiled eggs, and though it had a spotty green crust, I toasted and made fingers out the last slice of bread!

Not so long ago it was maybe 40%. These days I'd say 10%.

I like fresh. No preservatives fresh. I don't trust anything that can sit out on the counter for three days and not go bad.

Probably around 5% or less by being careful that the stuff gets used up in some creative form or another; It also helped after I read an article some time ago about how food processing industry can deliberately create food waste by manipulating the 'best before' dates and that people are not aware that almost all foods are still fit for consumption for long after the best before date expires under the most ideal conditions of preservation ie. proper clean containers, proper cooling or freezing temperature, etc.

I eat almost everything. Maybe 1% that I throw out. But my parents are a lot worse. I would say they throw out 30% of food. They just cook and cook all the time and never eat left overs. What a waste.
