Too bad fruitcake has such a bad rep with most people. It's the commercial ones that give home made cakes the blame. My mom used to make a large fruitcake every year for Christmas and it was GOOD! She started at Thanksgiving and "seasoned" it every few days (i.e. poured whiskey on it). So caloric, but oh, so GOOOOOOOD!
