I know the policies and legalities being compromised, but I would like to know how to do this. My DirecTv receiver doesn't find satellite signal at my parents' house(771a) even though they have DirecTV service. The receiver works at my house and my parents' receivers work at theirs? Oddly their receivers work at my house by simply plugging it in! I thought my receiver would be the same at their house. I unplugged their receiver that was working and plugged in mine. After receiving message 771A I went through satellite signal meters menu, satellite setup, and all of those options on my receiver. I assigned what I believe is the correct satellite dish on the roof and the connection method (SWM or Multi-switch). Once it found a few good signals, but not enough to complete setup. After trying for a couple hours I tried factory restore from the receiver settings menu. I thought that would clear it's prior configuration settings that recognized my dish type and cables setup at my house. It uses a power inserter and swm at my house, but my parents' doesn't. I thought I could simply plug in the cable to my receiver and it work. Please walk me through it?
