    As of the censusGeographic references#2 of 2000, there were 844 people, 301 households, and 244 families residing in the town. The population density was 41.4/km sq (107.2/mi sq). There were 308 housing units at an average density of 15.1/km sq (39.1/mi sq). The racial makeup of the town was 97.99% White, 0.59% African American, 0.12% Asian, 0.47% Pacific Islander, and 0.83% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.36% of the population.

    There were 301 households out of which 34.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.1% were Marriagemarried couples living together, 7.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.9% were non-families. 13.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.07.

    In the town the population was spread out with 24.9% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 28.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 88.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.3 males.

    The median income for a household in the town was $63,750, and the median income for a family was $75,778. Males had a median income of $45,156 versus $30,625 for females. The per capita income for the town was $28,287. About 0.8% of families and 2.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.4% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
