65 MILLION years ago, a big rock from somewhere else in the Universe hit earth and wiped out most ancient species - were we on that rock?

...in the form of alien minerals

where did that rock come from ? a planet that had been destroyed perhaps ?

    No. Mammals were alive and well at that time, although taking a minor role compared with the dinosaurs. The rock was one of those asteroids that the Earth regularly encounters from time to time.

    Doubtful!, there would have been plenty of heat from the atmosphere and the explosion. everything, possibly even bacteria in the vacinity would have been destroyed. Life on the other side of the earth might have a chance.
