Besides exercise, does an increase in consumption of nutrients build muscle?

    Your body needs certain nutrients to create muscles. If you haven't been getting sufficient amounts of those nutrients, adding them to your diet will help you build muscle. However, you still need to use your muscles through exercise or other physical exertion (like lifting heavy objects on the job) to increase muscle size.
