Did Marcel Duchamp think about movement or decomposing the form in his painting "Nude Descending a Staircase"?

It looks like to me that Duchamp was before the futurists, who considered movement. Although Duchamp's form looks like that was his main intent, I can't help thinking he was thinking more like Picasso in decomposing form. Please advise.

You don't what a rush it is to see a question about Marcel Duchamp on this
    board.

I found him in a library a long time ago. Both sculptors and poets, Duchamp and Picasso
were or are in the same school of artistic thought. Duchamp's nude descending
a staircase was...fantastique. He was French. I have no idea, in answer to your
question. But yes, movement was a major perspective idea in Duchamp's painting.

Artists in general are usually limited to subjects that are static, and not moving.

Great artist, great painting. Possibly the artist's most famous work, plus his
    sculptures.

I think he was clearly expressing movement, as in the title of the painting. Duchamp was before most people. :)
