  • Pressure Points on the body are places where you can pinch the artery using pressure on the surface of the skin from you fingers to stop the flow of blood in an injury. Three pressure points would be the brachial, radial and ulnar artery. These are arteries that control blood flow to the hand. If either artery is cut then everything the artery serves below might die. But if you do not put pressure on the artery above to stop the blood, the person Could bleed to death. Most good Emergency Medical Technician manuals will have diagrams of the pressure points. Applying pressure points should be done with caution as loss of limb can happen from prolonged blood flow interurruption.
