I think they're neat. I base on their women. Are they pretty? Are they white? Then I love them.

Some people are really oblivious to the outside world...though I guess that is true for any country. One example though: I went to a Western Union office to send some money to France. The attendant looked frustrated and when I asked her, she said she can't find a state called "France". I told her it is a separate country in Europe...she still looked annoyed and commented, I am now looking under United Kingdom and I still can't find it!

While many Americans(US specific) may not even think of other countries, its my opinion that many countries dislike or despise Americans and for the most part it seems people of other countries write them off as greedy, ignorant, and immoral. Having said that I can see where many of these views come from. Though because it has been made very clear to Americans, Americans tend to care less of how other countries view them. Until it becomes downright hatred. Then relations weaken further as a bad downward spiral occurs.

I've traveled to some 34 countries on this earth. I had/have a favorable opinion of every one of them...with the exception of the Soviet Union when it was the Soviet Union.

Then, again, there are, of course, scores of countries I have not visited...and would not visit...inasmuch as I would not be a welcomed guest there. Of those, I have less than a favorable view.

Gene Ryack: I rated all governments and countries by how good or bad their Saturday nights were... and... I KNEW that Moscow and Peking had to be a stone DRAG at that time of the week. So I was flying for a cause. I was fighting to defend... chicken BBQs and weinee roasts, and Ray Charles songs and drinkin' Southern Comfort till you passed out behind the bar.
Billy Covington: Politics of Saturday Night. I can relate to that theory.
Gene Ryack: Yeah, it's not bad, is it? Just not particularly true, that's all. I hear they party pretty hard in Moscow.
Billy Covington: No need to give up a good theory just because it isn't true.

Lots of Americans views are almost that shallow, primarily from ignorance. American schools stopped teaching facts about other countries about 30 years ago. Now the only extra-national viewpoint Americans can even see is (sometimes) the BBC.
