Many modifications to the emissions/exhaust system are illegal everywhere. Do NOT remove your catalytic converter! In California, this is doubly true, as ANY modification to the intake or exhaust system, ANY little deviation from stock, must have a CARB number if you want to drive that car legally. Depending on your jurisdiction, too-low drop kits, neon/accent lighting, nitrous, and hydraulics may be illegal. Same with too-loud stereos. Most jurisdictions also frown upon the mounting of weaponry; no guns, smokescreens, oil sprayers, or "junk" droppers. I wish I was kidding on this, but some people need reminding.
