Why is there a need for a three hour MRI for an ulnar nerve issue?

    Depends on the issue.

    I had an Ulnar Nerve moved in my arm - prior to the operation (a few months prior) CAT and MRI were done, the images were sent to the surgeon so he could figure out the best method to actually move the nerve without taking away my ability to use my ring finger and my pinky finger.

    The longer it takes the more detailed the imaging they are taking, or the more bodyparts they are taking.

    The Ulnar nerve extends from the neck all the way to the hand, if they are imaging the whole thing that means neck shot, upper arm shot, forearm shot, wrist and hand shot.
