Mark 12:25 says about the same thing.

false because ppl marry on a whim or get married for conveinence. then devorce happens so not all are made in heaven

- Sadly, I think that is especially so in USA (or particular state/s of USA); where people can walk from a casino, drunk; and get married. (I live in Australia; so if this is an invalid comment about USA state/s - please let me know)

Since this is in the "Sealed Marriages" section under Mormonism of Answer Bag, I will answer from an LdS perspective.

LdS believe that the marriage ceremony (and accompanying sealing) must be performed on the earth, though if the couple is sealed and makes it to the Celestial Kingdom, they can continue as husband and wife throughout eternity.

- John, I read it in context of the verse that says the dead aren't married or given in marriage. Reading it in the context of our pre-mortal existence sheds a totally different light on the subject.

That's just a figure of speech, like "wearing your heart on your sleeve," or "tying the knot," or "wedded bliss." Heaven, hell, Nirvana, Elysium, Shangri-la, Utopia, and the Happy Hunting Ground are all figures of speech, little white lies you tell your kids. Grown-ups know better.

While I want to say yes - there are some marriages that are pure hell on the couple involved. Did they bring it on themselves or are they under the influence of evil? I can't say.

Marriages are made by the people who marry. G-d knows in advance who we will marry and how we will treat each other. Those who commit to their marriages are known by G-d and so G-d creates them with the same soul before they even marry. It is not sharing a soul that makes a marriage work. It is making a marriage work that allows the married to share their soul.

- Everyone is created in G-d's image and therefore equally worthy of complete love and devotion. Marriage is commitment to that complete love and devotion. If two people love each other enough to marry, then it is their own fault if they stop. The only time someone should ever think they were mismatched is if they were raped/married against their will, or divorced against their will.

- Sorry it seemed that you were saying that two people destined to be married are created with two halves of the same soul, that just sent my mind whirring with questions of those who are married multiple times due to death divorce or what not. And the hypothetical possibility of someone making the wrong choice when they get married.

I dont think bad credit or paperwork is available in heaven. If there is a mutal connection of a relationship there is marrige in God's eyes
