It's not really that complicated, although it is difficult. The basic idea is this: spray down your base coat, then mask it all and cut away the parts that you don't want to remain that first color. Spray your second color and then add masking to all the areas you do want to remain that second color. Spray the third color. Remove all the tape. Making precise cuts in the masking is the difficult part. I've never done it well, but I was never good at model-building to start with--too impatient.
