    It was originally called 'Mistake Out' and then Liquid Paper. White Out is another brand name.

    It was, indeed Bette Nesmith, who invented white out. And if her last name sounds familar, it's because her son, Michael Nesmith, was a member of the 1960s singing group "The Monkees." Just a little trivia for 'ya.
