i was arrested for dui in louisiana this was over a year and a half ago isn't there a law for the right to a speedy trial?

    Usually it's not worth hiring a lawyer. You should be allowed to plead nolo contendere and pay a minimal fine, plus not have a mark on your license.

    I assume you are fighting it ? You should ask your attorney what's taking so long. I lived in Louisiana for almost 20 years and I know how crooked the cops and court system is there.
