I don't see how the Constitution could guarantee that right ChiLady. But I think we have a right to seek work. I can't believe we wouldn't! :)

For all such questions, I always recommend read The Constitution. It is not a difficult read. Why it has been pulled from public school curricula I do not know, but probably because the lib educrats do not like what it says in several places. Here it is.

Per my recollection nowhere does it get into the nitty gritty of whether or not one has a job. If you are referring to "right to work" as in "right to work laws", those laws are typically local in nature, such as in the individual states. What is not addressed in The Constitution is indeed left to the states. Right-to-work laws mean that you have the right to work without being beholden to a union; that joining a union cannot legally be held over one's head as a requirement for taking a job. Proponents of right-to-work laws often cite The Constitution's guarantees of freedom of association, derived from right to peaceably assemble as guaranteed by the First Amendment. The opposite of a right-to-work state is a closed-shop state.

The question needs refinement. Are you asking if one is guaranteed a job? No! Do you have a right to work, assuming your are physically able, yes, but that says nothing about being paid for it nor does it say anything about the specific nature or location of it.

No, but I've heard that the Bible says, if you don't work, you don't eat. I think you have to right not to be discriminated against if you apply for a job, but you really aren't guaranteed you will get it.
