You're reading I paid for a car ex bf now is on the title. there is an and not and and/or i didn't know about that kind of title. can i get him taken off
Comments
we didn't do a loan i had paid cash for the car. he got a hold of the title and sign his name without me knowing. i had just realized when the dmv lady said i wouldn't be able to put my plates on the car with just his signature mine had to be on there. i told her i paid for the i didn't know he signed i said if i signed and left him on there would i be able to take him off if we separated she said ya there would be no problem. but i was reading and it said the title has to say and/or cant just say and. I didn't even know that. my name is first on the title and its my drivers license that is on the title

DMV lady wanted your signature... OK...
Did you sign it?
Did you get insurance and plates in your name?
Then what is the problem?
Him signing it is ok. It releases the vehicle for sale, if you ever wanted to sell it.
If it just bothers you to have his name on it, go to the DMV and ask what can be done about it. You probably can pay for another title and wait for it to come in the mail. I don't know of a legal reason that it's to your advantage. This seems to be an emotional issue.
