Twenty red Marlboro at the small shop is £7,10. At the supermarket they are £6.80, but it is 30p to park there, then a third of a gallon of motion lotion there and back. Of couse it makes sense for the big shop, but not for the Antmans Bacardi, fags, and Tattys cat food.

The business scam in this is that it is for convenience that we would be paying for. Usually a 30% above suggested retail price is the scam, but higher on some things.
I rarely use them at all.

Everything is more expensive in convenient stores.

What they can put in one supermarket(like Walmart), could be distributed to
say, over 400 convenience stores. Now, since I've never seen a lot of invoices,
or any, I still assume that the cost of every item placed in the inventory of a
CS is more than the cost of same or equivalent item in a superstore or a
supermarket. The stuff in either the supermarket or the CS is shipped by
trucks(sometimes trains, or planes or all three), so the expense of shipping
to the convenience chain(we call 'em chains; 7-11 was a chain) has to cost
more. The tonnage of merchandise at Wal-Mart is typically cheaper by
sheer numbers of items. A Wal-Mart usually has two entrances in the
front, and fire doors. There are all those cameras in the store for
security. The superstore's insurance in general must be less, and I don't
know how they arrive at a cost. But a CS store can be the victim of robbery
much more, I am pretty sure. A lot of convenicence stores close their
doors by 11 PM because the franchises(word?) got sick of being robbed.

The one nice thing about a convenience store is a person can pick up one
or two items as an alternate to going to Wall World. They pay for the
    convenience.
