Is it possible to clear a phone for use if it has a balance on it from previous owner? It is a verizon LG VX3100.

    With Verizon, the phone itself doesn't carry the balance (if you're talking about postpaid service/contracts). The account does. The phone is registered to the account with the balance, but the ESN (electronic serial number) can be switched to another account. I recommend activating the service for that phone in a store and requesting a "service only" where they get your contract set up with a new phone number. Easy enough.

    If you're talking about clearing an account for use before the balance is paid, know that it's not going to happen.
