    A house exterior can and should be painted at temperatures above 40 degrees. Oil-based paint should be applied at 40 degrees and above and latex-based paints should be applied at 50 degrees and above. This will help prevent the paint blistering on the house that sometimes occurs when paint is applied in cool weather.
