  • Could she be Pregnant?
  • Maybe he/she is sick?
  • I'll assume this maybe a NEW behavior he/she has only recently started doing? Consider any possible changes to the household or the dog's normal ROUTINE first. Someone recently move out? Schedule changes? Feed changes? New person in the dog's life? If there is not a single (or a couple) of changes that come to mind, I would urge you to call your vet. Unless you know without a doubt that NONE of the food your dog has had could an any way possible be linked with any of the (rather long) list of recalled pet foods, it isn't a risk I would take. Better to pay an office visit and KNOW that everything PHYSICALLY checks out fine, than to delay and be horribly sorry that you did. You can catch up some urine in a small container with a no drip lid, and snag a bit of poop...you don't need much of either, for the Vet to run tests and see if there could be a UTI, or some other problem...Usually, I'd say just take the samples in first then the dog if anything shows up. But...since you imply that this is NOT NORMAL behavior for this little one...I say GET an opinion from someone who can SEE and test the dog! Better safe than sorry...too much nasty stuff "out there" harming companion animals these recent days. Best to you both...let us know...I know many will say a prayer for this pooch!
