Help answer this question below.

Is it true that the Mormon Church is organized in the spirit world and that righteous spirits go on missions to the spirit prison?

    Yes, But it wouldnt be called the 'MORMON-CHURCH'
    More like the 'Church of Jesus Christ.'

    When Christ visited the Spirits in Prison He went there to Preach & Teach them about SALVATION...Not to Gloat.

    There is little refference to go on, But Joseph Smith does mention it in
    'Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith' p179, The Ordinance of Baptism for the Dead.

    ' ...It was Certainly practised by the ancient churches; and St Paul endeavors to Prove the Doctrine of the Resurrection from the same, and says, (1Cor 15:29)...The Saints have the privilege of being baptised for those of their relatives who are dead...And who have received the gospel in the spirit, through the instrumentality of those who have been commissioned to PREACH TO THEM while in prison.'

    Why is it So difficult to accept this Doctrine spoken of in the Bible?

    If you dont accept 'ALL TRUTH' spoken by Paul, Then who do you let decide what bits are used & what NOT? - Your Local Minister will tell you to avoid talking about such things...If you think ignorance will save you, You are WRONG.

    I believe it would be more accurate to say that those who did not have the fullness of the gospel will have a chance to learn the truths the Lord has given mankind and become part of the church of the Firstborn. Jesus Christ is the Firstborn, which means he is above all things. He is our Creator, our Provider, and our Father. He is the Holy One of Israel who has redeemed us. Those who accept salvation are sons and daughters of Jesus Christ.

    "And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true. They are they who are the church of the Firstborn." [D&C 76:53-54]
