    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Brigadier General Thomas Jackson led Confederate troops in the battle of Bull Run at First Manassas. At the sight of the Rebel unit, General Bernard Bee was quoted as saying, "There is Jackson, standing like a stone wall." He was known as "Stonewall" Jackson after this 1861 battle.
