I don't think it is. Perhaps global warming has heated the Earths crust and mantle increasing the probability of an Earthquake. (The earthquake in NZ is most likely to be related for the one in Japan.)

My guess is on the Cascadia 9.0 potential, but it surprises me that Mount Fuji is so quiet...

It may or may not be that we need to get rid of a few billion people. Disasters are happening all over the world. It would be curious to see just how many have perished by the time 12-21-2012 gets here.
