UN resolution for a no fly zone in libya passed. We have WAR people. What do you think of the latest middle east intervention?

it would be good if the UN took care of the no fly zone with all the other countries without the US being involved.

To avoid being banned for being AntiSemitic i will answer this question like this..
the Frenchmen demanded Libya be bombed ..sure that Frenchmen happened to be Jewish .but that wasn't a factor. seriously.. a person being jewish and Lobbing for the Bombing of "Arabs" has nothing to do with this Intervention.

- To avoid being accused of being an accused antisemitic's apologist I don't know who the french jew is you are referring to. Regardless I think the securing of millions of dollars and decades of oil is more of an incentive to force regime change than anyone lobbying, whoever they may be.

No middle east intervention up to now has been seen by the rest of international community and the UN as a international body has a right to opposed a no fly zone on Libya because of the safety of innocents civilians whom are suffering from the hand of the blood sucking Gaddafi

Yeah I think is good for the protection of the civilian no any leader in the world is to allow to kill is own people because the leaders are belong to peoples and no state without inhabitants and they are not borne to be leaders forever in there life every citizens have rights to run state affairs

- I know m'dear. China and Russia abstained..they did not vote no. When does that ever happen? The rest of them? 10 to nothing in favor. How often does that happen? Never maybe? So as we go into yet another war, any bets on how long this one will last? :(

Its not a war by any stretch of the imagination, its a containment only... if Libya don't try to break the UN no fly zone then really no other action will take place. But if they do then its their stupid mistake because they will have their arses handed to them. No ground forces are predicted to enter Libya only air control is on the cards. The UN has taken over 2 weeks to pull their fingers out and finally decide to do something other than flap their collective gums and send notes telling Gaddafi what a naughty boy he has been, they should have acted in the first 48 hours to stop him from using his airforce.

- It's not libia, it's gaddafi and he's 'mad'. his initial response to hearing it was something like 'well bring it bitch!' He's not going to pay attention to a no fly zone that's why i said it's war. The UN's job to date has been flapping it's gums. They are in shock now that a decision has been made by them. They will need a long lie down now. ^_^

- well I was shocked it only took 2 weeks for the UN to make up their collective minds... normally they reach a decision only after something has ended. It looks like old gaddafi has backed down now he has seen that he will get handed his arse if he tries anything.

I don't like it one bit, there is more than enough Arab countries with standing military and aircraft that can do this for themselves and this is a Arab problem they need to take care of this themselves without outside intervention...

- It' a Civil War and that is what happens in Wars killing on both sides but it is still an internal affair of the Libyans and the surrounding Arab Countries to deal with first, and We keep getting suckered in to these conflicts to solve THEIR problems, THEIR Conflicts and THEIR hatreds of each other and that IS NOT our responsibility and when they have had enough of this crap then and only then will any form of progress be made and they have never really been willing, they have lied a lot, played us a lot and they have deceived us a lot besides they need to form a plan for themselves that DOES NOT include our constant involvement with them...

- It's not so much we keep getting suckered in as we keep jumping in to secure future oil supplies. They have declared a cease-fire but that won't matter if the analysts decide gaddafi is too unstable and has to go. We can't have our future oil supplies being looked after by a mad man who doesn't behave.

US officials have said the authorization for " all necessary measures" provides a legal basis for countries to carry out air strikes to protect civilians from Gadhafi's forces.

For a long time, it has been said, by certain countries, that Gadhafi must go in order to avoid even more bloodshed. Not all countries agree, but, what should be done? It's so messed up to the point of complete craziness.

I think "Oy, I hope they know what they're doing better than Bush did." You could hardly help doing better than Bush, but US foreign policy never ceases to amaze me. This time it's for a side that you'd hope would be better than Qaddhafi or however you spell his stupid name, but I don't think it's going to earn us any friends. Hopefully it won't cause a stalemate that will drag on for years and cause a lot more deaths. At least Al Qaeda-ish elements aren't involved, from what I've read.

Hey, Ombliss, I got an alert that you'd responded to that issue we'd been discussing, but as sometimes happens, clicking it just brought me to a page of questions on which yours didn't exist.
