What does it mean when your eyelashes are sore?

    You may have ingrowing eyelashes; eyelashes that either curl towards the eyeball or lashes that grow from inside your eye. I have this problem, where I have lashes growing from the corners of my eye (very fine, so they're hard to see), but it's very painful and makes me want to rub my eyes. More often than not, I have to remove an eyelash from the surface of my eye. I went to my GP, who has referred me to an eye clinic. I'm sure if you go to your doctor, they'll be able to help you.

    You could have an eye infection, or you maybe sensitive to eyemake up.

    It is probably a form of blepharitis or inflammation of the eyelid. The eyelashes themselves do not have nerves. The eyelid sometimes gets infected, becomes red and sore. See your optometrist or you can try lid scrubs that are sold in your pharmacy and warm compresses.

    I experienced sore eyelashes and was told by the doctor (after he looked at them with a special light) that that I had an infection of my eyelashes so he gave me some cream to apply to them which cleared it up.
