You're reading What is the nickname of Steubenville, Ohio?
Comments
Whenever I've seen it written, it was with at least 7 more S's. You should probably do a little more research.
I have also heard "The Miami of Ohio", but that was a couple of weeks ago, so I'm not sure how relevant that is anymore. Either way, Have a Steuberific Day!

You are way off on "The Miami of Ohio." Perhaps you should do some research yourself. However, it should be known that in its heyday in the 1940-60's it was known as "Little Chicago" (Complements of Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steubenville,_Ohio).
Thanks for your steubtastic response!

Unfortunately, the residents of the 1940-60's were not able to enjoy steubtastic anything because of Steubenville's reputation for crime, gambling, and corruption (also complements of your Wikipedia article). And it does not look like the present is getting any better...
To quote Dianna Ware in her letter to the editor of the Herald Star (now serving Steubenville, Jefferson and Harrison counties and the Upper Ohio Valley region with the latest in local and national news) on May 9th of 2010, "Why is it that crime in this town (Steubenville) is getting so bad that you cannot go outside on your porch and enjoy a nice spring day with your children without worrying who and where the next shooting will be?"

Even more disturbing is a response from a reader simply known as 'stephens' who says "a good criminal is a DEAD criminal.....PERIOD!!!!!" Truly frightening.
So here's hoping that Steubenville, with your historic residents such as underage adult film star Traci Lords and Hall of Fame Baseball pitcher Rollie Fingers, will have a brighter future than the current present where vigilante justice rules the streets.
Steubenator OUT!
