how can i make my 3 1/2 year old to use the potty and stop throwing fits, to explain whats wrong not throw a fit?

    Potty is done when the mess stops bothering him or her. Making it a game is one way. Another is bragging to others of how much of a big boy or girl for using the potty.
    Tell them about babies and how babies can not use the potty.

    As for fits, Many will say to ignore the fits and in time it will stop. I disagree and know this just tells them it is OK to act up any time they like.

    Hit the local pain store and ask for a 5 gal paint paddle. Get two or three and if you must pay for them do so, it is worth it.
    Now it is talk time. Tell them the fits must stop. It is wrong to act this way and from this it could one day danger thier life. If you can not control this could put them in a bad place and be injured or killed.
    The new rule is this, when you throw a fit I will tell you to stop. If you do not stop imediataly, I will spank you with the paddle. (when you do swat the butt flat and hard one good time). If you dont stop I will paddle you again harder. The spanking will continue til lyou stop having a fit. From this point forward you will get paddled each time you act up.
    Tell he or she, I love you so much I must make you listen to me. When I spank you I still love you and in fact I love you so much it will hurt me to do this, but I must do this to get control of you.
    Now you can not promise things you do not give, spanking included. If he or she does this at a store, take he or she out to the car and paddle them. Make sure ot take thme back in the store and they must leave under control of you.
    Never yell or scream, no counting as this lets them know how long you wil llet thme act up before you either do something or start counting agian.
    It is time ot be firm, consistant ALL the time. If you let he or she get away with this now or later it breaks the work you have done. If need be take heor she to another room and spank them there.
    My son is 14 and daugher 12. I ask them if I or Mom have spanked them any timewhen they did not deserve it? Have you ever thought Mom and dad were wrong for spanking you? Have you ever thought we abused you?
    I got good answers, Each spanking taught thme to act right. In school they both see kids that act up and cause trouble. Both think one day these children wil llearn to act right in jail or by means of beaten to death on the street.
    I am a retired police office that handled child abuse cases for years. Was my specialty and I have seen children of poor parents are key to problem children and future criminals.
    If you fail to make your children act well and listen to you and others, you are a poor parent.
    Never mix spankings with screaming, no do you ever spank when you are upset. Send thme to the room to think aobut things while you cool off. Once you are cooled off you Must deliver the promised spanking.
