Help answer this question below.

When I start my 1999 Grand Am V6, I hear a very high pitch humming sound coming from the gas tank. What could be causing this?

    Patman

    That high-pitched sound you hear is most likely the Electronic Fuel pump 'priming' aka 'pressurizing' the fuel system to ensure a quick start. Nothing to be concerned with.
