I am not against black history month, I just think it's racist. I don't learn anything new. The achievements that black people have given us are taught in school now, so its kinda hard to not know about black history.
I don't get it. I see the racism and it stops right there. Like with feminism. Feminism is just misandry. Which makes women sexist. Again, when they start laying down the propaganda I label it as misandry and sexism and leave it at that.
I mean each is comparable in that both only fixate on the needs of one group and not people as a whole. That is what we call racism when a race does it and sexism when a gender does it.
I don't think either is getting us closer to equality and each are just trying to stack the cards in their favor, which they have. Now the fight is to increase the degree of favoritism they receive to higher levels. Each does this through utilizing the blame the white man mantra. Since white men founded the country and didn't allow women to vote or blacks to be free, white men now owe both of those groups restitution for the plight they received in the past.
White men I know, never oppressed anyone. They weren't alive before 1860 or 1920. Most of them weren't 18 by 1965. But the victim mentality is spoon fed to both groups and they are conditioned to feel like the world and every white man in it owes them something. They think this way because of things they were told happened 2,3,4, or 5 generations ago.
Everyone is a victim of something these days, and if you're not, go back to the end of the line there are a bunch of people who have special needs who get to go first. People who are not white males feel like their whole life is a struggle to overcome the hardships done to them by the white male. White males are affected the same way that everyone else is by white males. Believe it or not, when you are a white male, you have to compete against white males and everyone else too. It's called equality. Everyone competes against everyone. Not, well those people are special, move aside let them through. Here, take this and that, and one of these, oh don't forget this.
Then when you finally get your turn, the people don't help you because they are either a minority or a closet feminist. They expect white males to overcome in spite. This makes us angry and bitter. If we treated people how we get treated we would get sued, get fired, or worse.
Equality isn't anyone's goal anymore, everyone wants preferential treatment and special consideration. Why do white men stick together and help each other out? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder why?
Because all of the minorities only care about what they want. The women want to help women. Blacks want to help blacks, and Hispanics want to help Hispanics, and so on and so forth. White men are told they need to help everyone, and if they don't they are racist. Yet everyone else only helps their own race or gender. Double standards aplenty in America.

IM BLACK AND HAVE TO ADMIT ITS TRUE BUT I MEAN I CAN CARE LESS IF WHITES HAVE THEY OWN STUFF
by MS.TODD on February 8th, 2011
I'm with you, MS.TODD. It doesn't really matter to me if blacks, Asians, whites, or anyone else wants to celebrate their heritage, ethnicity or culture. I think there have been too many asshole bigots in the past who have ruined it for the rest of us. Suddenly it's not ok for me to like being white because somehow that's racist. It's silly, really. I love all my fellow colors of people.

BACzero-Lisa McLelland and Freedom High School is the perfect example of what you are talking about.
I'm with you though. I don't care if each race has their own thing, it just sickens me that if white people want equality now, we're considered racists!
And what the hell is up with Affirmative Action? That's one of the most blatantly racsit things ever and the government sanctions it!

One of the things about America is, for the most part, the only two ethnicities considered are black and white.
There are a lot more than just those two.

Arisztid, you are absolutely right
by Little big mouth on February 11th, 2011
Arisztid-As always words of wisdom. How have you been? I haven't "seen" you around here for awhile.
by Self Consuming Cannibal on February 11th, 2011
Absolutely, Arisztid. I used black only because the original question was in regards to Black History Month. There are programs that cater to many minorities, but programs that cater only to whites are still generally considered racist. :)

Eh, not much, SCC and howdy LBM.
BAC, I know. The white/black thing is going to be even more prevalent this month as it is every single February. Oversaturation of anything is annoying to me.
I do wish to tell you that not all minorities get any sort of bennies or programs which can be annoying because, due to us being minorities, it is assumed that we do get government bennies and we get crap due to it. I have been told more than once at work that I must have cost some more qualified white person their job/ "I guess [this hospital] filled their quota with you,"/etc. I do not want government bennies because I prefer earning my job legitimately but the assumption that I get them, rather than that I am good enough at my job to get decent positions despite prejudice against me, is damned annoying.
end rant

There's a difference Arisztid about ranting & speaking the truth
