Help answer this question below.

what are some ways to help me sleep better? This issue is seriously starting to annoy me....help!

I tried listening to music, didn't really help, reading, a little. Anything else? (And don't say something like "don't go on AB", cuz I can't sleep right now and I got nothin to do....)

Your mind and body are connected. If the body isn't relaxed the mind will have a hard time feeling relaxed too. You must relax your body. I'll tell you what I tell all people who have problems sleeping:

Lay down in bed and close your eyes and focus on relaxing each muscle in your body. Start down at your feet and work your way up. Imagine your body turning to led and sinking deeper into the bed and through the floor. Imagine you can go through the floor. Make sure all your muscles are extremely relaxed. Keep trying to relax them even more then you did before, and concentrate on sinking through the floor and let your mind wander and continue to relax your body even deeper. By the time your done with that, you'll wake up and it'll be morning.

Learn to slow your mind down. Meditation techniques can be very useful.

Take magnesium. Some people who have sleep problems have low magnesium levels. Magnesium is a nerve and muscle relaxant and without it you are too hyper to sleep well.

Music will only mess up your emotions before sleep, no good.

Reading is good as far as your eyes become tired.

    Have you tried masturbation?

Remember to make going to sleep a marked point in your schedule, with shutting off everything possible, finalising every daily affair, etc.

If you're listening to music then tempo is important so go with slow rythmic sounds. Also go with music that have no lyrics as words can be very distracting.

While trying to fall asleep, think in pictures only. Do this by recalling your day's events or remembering last night's dreams.

    Exercise helps a ton too.

if your thinking to much about something that can keep you up. music does help, but it depends on what it is. find something soothing and calm. If its winter and your cold... well get some blankets or something. and you could try staying away from the computer. meditate as in think of a calm place. make the details of the place vague, meaning don't think to hard about it. slowing your breathing could help... it sounds bad, but the less oxygen to your head makes you feel sleepy. if all fails, try some pills that help you sleep.

If it's a steady problem, create a ritual.

Get plenty exercise during daylight hours
Set the mood for sleep a couple hours before (dim lighting, quiet, etc.)
Eat a light snack (half a turkey sandwich with low fat cheese on wheat works)
Turn off noisy or stimulating electronics (yes, including tv and computers)
Take a warm bath (the drop in body temp when you exit is conducive to sleep)
Read by lamplight or some other quiet activity (crossword, word search, etc.)

If all else fails, natural Melatonin works wonders when taken 30-60 minutes before bed and it will not make you groggy upon waking.
