    The population of Venice, Florida was 17,764 at the 2000 census. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2004 estimates, the city had a population of 19,990. It is noted for its large snowbird (people)snowbird population. Its newspaper is the Venice Gondolier Sun, and Univision affiliate WVEA is licensed to Venice. It has been listed in many publications as being the "Shark's Tooth Capital of The World".
