He's not my favorite but there are certainly far worse out there. I do like that "worst suckiest" description though. Very vivid. ;-)

I'm not a movie fanatic but what I've seen on the screen of Nicholas Cage does not support what you suggest. I think he is a good actor. It would be interesting if you would be more specific and reveal exactly what it is you dislike about his acting.

I would give "worst suckiest" to Keanu Reeves. That boy couldn't ad lib a fart after a pinto bean dinner.

- @Capital J: I don't dispute that Reeves has an impressive filmography in terms of number of films he has made. His own web site, however, has the number of films at 40. (see link below) And, from what I gather, he has been well compensated for those projects. However, that said, Keanu Reeves is not an actor. He is a movie star.

Actually, his portrayal of off-beat characters is pretty good. "Season of the Witch", "Lord of War", both "National Treasure" movies, and "Gone in 60 Seconds" were decent primarily because he can carry the quirkiness of the main character. So was "Con-Air" and "Kick Ass". I think "Next" and "Moonstruck" had his best two roles.

OH MY GOD! ive been saying that for so long. i cannot stand the man. do you know he has it written into his contracts that if anyone on set mentions his hairline he can walk free and keep the money?

OMG, has no one here seen "Moonstruck"?? How could you not fall in love with Nicolas Cage? I have to admit some of his movies were bad, but he has a certain charm about him.

- I think that Moonstruck was one of his first movies - I think it was the perfect role for him - sarcastic but yet funny. However I seen that movie when it first came out, so I think I'm a bit older than you - could be a generational thing :)

No, that dubious honor goes directly to Stephen Baldwin. His appearance is the kiss of death for any movie. I struggle to remember any true contributions to the movie world, because the only one I can even remember is his nauseating role as Barney Rubble in The Flintstones. Even Charles Bronson has more depth than Baldwin and he's been dead since 2003.

Sorry, but I really can't bring myself to hate Nicholas Cage because at least he makes me laugh from time to time and Raising Arizona was funny as hell.
