Edwin Hubble used a number of telescopes over his career, including the 200 inch Mount Palomar telescope, the most powerful at the time. His work on what became known as Hubble's law was based on the observation of many astronomers using telescopes all over the world, not just his own observations.

    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Hubble used the Hooker telescope at Mount Wilson Observatory, the most powerful on earth in 1924, to discover Hubble's law. He discovered that the farther away a galaxy is from earth, the faster it is racing away and that speed could be determined by the galaxy's red shift.
