Perfect! It's even worse when you say you don't see the point in going because you aren't going to buy anything and then they just tell you they will buy you something and 'not to worry'. Determined much?

@gtravels - They get away with it by...
1) Locating stores in places where people are not very price-sensitive.
2) Designing the layout and decor of the stores to make it seem like the expense is worth it.
3) Marketing, marketing, marketing.
I find Starbucks stores quite fascinating, because the 'Buy, buy, buy, BUY G**** IT!' message is so loud to my trained ear/brain.

@AG: People do seem to love their Starbucks. I never did get that.
@OS: Yeah. I do get that but I often find the lemming mentality pretty frightening. Reminds me of Oprah. If she told people she ate dog crap for breakfast, tomorrow everyone would be waiting by their dog's ass for their morning meal.
