A little of both for me

It seems that way. The most important thing no matter what when framing a question is not to lead the respondant either way, i.e. in the form of a loaded question in order to gather the most non-biased data possible.

It does seem that way, although if you look through older unanswered questions, many of them are asking for facts. I think there are two reasons it works out the way it does on AB. First is that many people simply research for facts themselves (it is not difficult to do these days) plus many topics that are unanswered on here may not be answerable by the users of the site at this time. Second reason is that this is a good way to find out what people think about certain things, sometimes you can ask the taboo, and get honest answers, which can be very helpful to the asker.

For me it's about a 60%(opinion) to 40%(answer or fact)

Ya never know what your gonna get here on AB, but your gonna get it one way or the other.

Yes i agree. You must note that this question is also a opinion based question.LOL

1) Yes, because although I already know all the answers, I am interested in the opinion of others. But it might be different for some other people. ;-) 2) More seriously, I ask questions often because I hope someone else will do the research work for me, or did it already, or know the answer somehow, or has an interesting idea about the issue. And I like the fact that sometimes, I learn interesting things that I have not even been asking for! 3) Since you asked this question, AB introduced a possibility to evaluate a question: "Is this Conversational or Educational?" It is actually not used very often, but I am sure that there are many educational questions, because I am mostly answering that kind of questions. (Even if they were not formally classified as such).
