Francis Albert did wonders for Sammy's career. Club owners who wouldn't let Sam in as a patron, let alone a performer, were quickly dealt with by Frank Sinatra and before you knew it, "Smokey" was the feature. Frank took Sam under his wing and did not bow down to biggots and opressors. He even put up a big fight when JFK's father threatened to remove Frank from "the loop" if he stood as best man for Sammy at his inter-racial marriage.
