My joomla site states when accessig the home page "the server domainname.com:21 requires a username and password. How do i remove this?

  I am still developing my site, but would like to go live. How can I put on the front page, to show site is dev, but still have the login. I want it to look like joomlacollection.com, but with login plugin. I only want certain people to be able to login.
