"The safest, hands-off way to get rid of poison ivy AND(!) honeysuckle is by getting a goat to forage in your yard...Goats eat everything, and they are completely immune to poison ivy, and they like to eat both ivy and honeysuckle! They also make great pets. If you can't commit to keeping a goat as a pet, maybe you can 'borrow' one from somewhere." some people arent allergic to poison ivy. and in some regions it cant be avoided. wash the area well and with a degreasing agent...dawn,dish washing detergent etc try on to scratch the area i use calomine lotion or a product called ivy dry from most stores. hydrocortozone cream or calomine will cover the area well. benydril creams work well if you are trying to cut down poison ivy...good luck dont burn the waste there is an antifreeze that is biodegadeable and acts like roundup

Wear thick rubber gloves, long sleeves, long pants, and pull it up. Be very careful. If you get any on you wash the area immediatly. Throw away the gloves after using them.

Round up is a good choice and it biodegrades rapidly. Just be careful about not getting it on plants you care about.

Salt, many times, does the trick of killing nasty weeds. I'm not sure how well it would work with poison ivy, but I think it is worth a try!
