Probably what he was then an engineer, and artist, an inventor, an architect, a biologist, etc. Pretty much a super human. That guy was fresh!

He was a man for the season; a true renaissance man before his time. It would make sense he'd be pioneering some kind of natural healthy electricity generation, healing techniques, astrological gardens, designing warp travel, producing effective water desalination plants for the third world, discovering the principle of time travel, or creating mind-blowing holographic 3D art forms.

All that sort of stuff. The stuff a few folk are doing today, although small time, and thus not getting much recognition for.

he would have to pry me off of him, or call a security to keep me out of his offices. I am no super-fan, but he and I are very similar in many ways.

Leonardo would be dismissed as a boring personality, since his art is not representative of today's modern artists, and I doubt he would be willing to spread his own feces on a canvas and call it art, he would find himself without much of a way to support himself. Mechanical devices are near obsolete in favor of of solid state electronic devices and programs. Leonardo would end up in the welfare system and would likely suffer from deep depression being a person full of ideas that no one finds useful. Because of his welfare status and the hoops he must jump through to get help from medicaid, Leonardo will go untreated for his depression and eventually take his own life completely unnoticed by the rest of us, simply another statistic.

It would depend on the country where he lives. If in USA or Europe, we'd read his books, hear his conferences and surely watch him on TV. He'd be famous.

But in another places he would be an ignored genious or a very clever corpse.
