It hits hard on calcium components of your body.Especially teeth and bones.Try this small experiment and see for yourself.Take a broken tooth of a kid or any bone from any dead animal that is dry from inside.Weigh it and keep it submerged in carbonated cola for a week. You'll see a considerable difference in weight when you take it out dry it and weigh again.Carbonated stuffs react with calcium to form calcium carbonate and hnce body loses calcium.Try it to see yourself.

Sugar is harmful. Avoid it at all cost. Carbonation? Some are uncomfortable drinking anything carbonated so they avoid it. I like "bubble water" with some diet Hansen's gingerale (sweetened with Splenda) and I drink that on occasion. :)

If you drink colas regularly the large amounts of sodium and sweetener can be bad for you in the long run. The carbonation, however, is harmless.

It can cause kidney stones and the carmel corn that adds the dark to the look of it can be long term harmful with to much drinking over time. Health yuppies recommend drinking lime flavored or clear soda.
