  • Kindly advise this man that the threats were witnessed by others in your presence and that if anything happens to you, your family, or your home, no matter how major or minor, the police will be investigating you first. Usually the threats will cease after that warning because if this man really wants to carry out his threats he certainly does not want to take the rap for someone else.
  • Being a federal police officer who has worked on multiple federal installations, I can tell you that there is a USC (United States Code) for communicating a threat. This can range from someone stating that they will "kill you" to "you better watch your back". Depending on what type of installation you are on, there is some type of police or security that will help you. If it is a military installation there will be military police and/or civilian officers. If it is non-military, there should be DOD (Department of Defense) police. I would first suggest telling the person to stop. At the same time, keep a journal or notes of dates, times, and statements made from this person. This will provide very useful if needed by the police.
