What are some ways to quit picking my nose?

Put a rubber band around your wrist which is large enough so it won't stop your blood flow. Every time you catch yourself picking your nose, pull it and then let it go, thereby causing a small amount of pain. In time, you will associate picking your nose with the pain, which should help you remember not to do it.

You should try wear gloves. that way your fingers wont fit up your nose.

After you have your shower use a q-tip to clean your nose and you won't have to also putting vasline up it can help if your nose is dry and can't heal right.

When you have an urge to pick your nose, find something to do in its place. Squeeze a ball, suck on a straw, etc.

Cut your finger off. Do you know how rude that is and how stupid you look doing it?

This works great. Keep some chopped chili (or other hot) peppers in a baggy in your pocket. Everytime you feel the urge, stick your fingers in the baggy and play with the peppers. The first few times you pick your nose with that stuff on your fingers will be the last. Incidently we got a crayon out of my son's nose once with black pepper. It was hilarious.

No need to quit. If others around you find it rude or dirty or offensive or whatever, just move to China...everyone here seems to think its perfectly alright to pick. Any time, any place, in their room or in your face. There's even a rule: The pinky's for picking, and the thumb is for flicking...Enjoy!

Join a NPA support group. (Nose Pickers Anynonomus) There is a twelve step process but its pretty painless.

Is it that your nose is excessively dry? I'm from a very dry climate and know how uncomfortable that can be, and that it can drive even the primmest of people to want to stick their finger up there and redistribute the moisture a little. If that's the case, I find a little bit of lip balm up the nose right after a shower will keep your nasal passages soft and moist all day! hahaha... what an odd topic. I'm sure it's one plenty of people wonder about but don't have the guts to ask though! :P
