Hey, that guy could've burned Korans if he wanted to.

Also, you cannot reasonably equate the of building a community center with assembling a mob for a public book burning.

actually it is very smart to buildt a mosque, i think we should build them all over the world. so when the terrorist come to attack they will be too afraid to hit one of their mosques :D

It appears that you feel strongly about this issue. If that's so, you're not actually looking for an answer; you're just looking for people who agree with you and other people who you can disagree with. Nothing these people can say will change your mind, so why bother posing this question other than to feel justified in your position with the confirmation of others and the damnation of heathens?

By the way, the answer is that burning the Koran is a symbol of religious intolerence, while the building of the Mosque is a sign of a country where religious tolerence exists. Thereofre, they are completely welcome to build a mosque wherever a church would be allowed. Not that you necessarily care.

because muslims somehow think everyone should cater to their religion, while they couldn't care less about catering to other religions or beliefs.

this is the reason they are so intolerant as a whole.

I seriously think its about time the whole world faces them down and makes them anti-up, take reponsibility, and police themselves for all the hatred, violence, and persecution their religion is causing.

These two decisions are completely different. First of all, if that pastor had burned the Koran, he would have put people's safety at risk. In fact, people died protesting the burning. After all, shoudln't pastors be worried about preaching their own religion instead of disrespecting one that he knows nothing about? Terrorists flew into the world trade center, but that does not mean that all muslims are bad. To burn the Koran on 9/11 would be to offend all muslims. Most muslims in the world hate the fact that the twin towers were bombed. On the other hand, building a mosque would harm no one. They are not building a mosque to disrespect Christianity; they are building a mosque so that they can have a place to worship. The founding fathers wanted our country to be one with freedom of religion. Most of the founding fathers were themselves atheists, but they were respectful of all types of religions. There is no reason that mosque should not be built. If it is going to hurt you somehow, please explain that to me logically. Otherwise, I think people who complain about it just love to hear themselves talk and want something to complain about it. If people are such strong Christians, then stop judging other religions and go to church or pray or something! Go help people! Isn't that what it's supposed to be about anyway?

Because book burning is a stupid practice and building a community centre (it's not a mosque) means you have some place to hire where you can gather friends and family to read as many books as you like.

God loves people who build mosques but despised Koran burning. (THE TO BE KORAN BURNER) is an individual and should not be seen to represent the whole Christians, a Mosque when built is for all muslims to share not for only him/her who built it. Therefore its not Muslims against christians on this issue. Its muslims wanting to build a mosque some where and someone some where wanting to burn koran. He might weight his intention against a mosque building, but intentions have no substance so why all this furor.

Because the Muslim shouldn't have to. The Muslims orchestrating the construction of the Mosque have absolutely nothing to do with 9/11, so it would be unreasonable to impose on them in any way to not build it. Besides, this is Manhattan we're talking about - it's not like they're spoiled for choice as to location. The guy in charge of the whole thing also made it clear that it's meant as a gesture of peace and reconciliation.

That so called preacher is a charlatan and a coward. If he had a calling from God he would have carried it out. Converesly, the prick who thinks he is going to have enough peace to complete the building of a monument to the murder of Americans is totally delusional.

There is a huge difference between burning a holy book and building a place to worship God. If that guy in FL had decided to go ahead with the Quran burning he would have made tensions between Muslims and non-Muslims greater. How would you feel if you and your congregation decided to build a church and everyone was against you and committing acts of hate towards your group and the said well we were going to burn your Bible but we wont if you don't build your Church. Think of it that way and see if you still feel the same way.
