That depends on how you treat those images. If you worship those images, it is very bad. Worshiping even an image of Jesus is an idolatry. However, having such an image to remind you constantly of who Christ is, what He did for you, and that you need to pray constantly, that would be a good thing.
It isn't a good idea. I remember the first time I saw a plastic Jesus on the dashboard of a car. The driver thought that it protected him. That's nonsense.
Read Exodus 20:4,5. It's part of the ten commandments. You're suppose to serve, bow down to God. Jesus himself had said to someone kneeling before him; do not kneel before me, get up.

Having images of great, highly respected and loved personalities can eventually lead to idolatry. This is why Mulims are so strict about not depicting any image of any of God's prophets including Moses, Jesus and Mohammed.
