    The Dr Pepper Company merged with The Seven-Up Company in 1986 and the combined institution was known as Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Companies, Inc. In 1995, London-based Cadbury Schweppes acquired Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Companies, Inc. The names has been shortened to Dr Pepper/Seven Up.

    In May 2008, demerged into two separate entities, one focusing on its main chocolate and confectionery market, the other the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Inc. See the list of more than 50 brands -- including DrPepper and 7Up -- at http://www.drpeppersnapplegroup.com/brands/
