Question

Help answer this question below.

From reading the description is it possible that I had a mild panic attack?

For about a half-hour I experienced nausea, very rapid heart rate, and shaking. But most notable was my inability to control my thoughts during this period of time. It was jumping from one thing to the next. I looked it up but wasn't quite sure.

Possible. But I suggest you consult a doctor. It could also be something else.

"Some panic attack symptoms are quite obscure and don't necessarily feel like they are caused by panic. This page will tell you a little more about more common panic attacks symptoms, but the list is long. The rule of thumb is, if you have symptoms which occur when you feel anxious or have panic attacks... they ARE caused by the anxiety, not some other unidentified condition."

    "Common Panic Attack Symptoms
Rapid heart beat, pounding heart or palpitations
    Sweating
    Shaking visibly or inside
Choking sensations or lump in throat (Globus Hystericus)
Smothering or shortness of breath sensations
    Chest pain or discomfort
Nausea, bloating, indigestion or abdominal discomfort
    Dizziness or unsteadiness
    Feeling light-headed
    Derealization (feeling unreal or dreamy)
Depersonalization (feeling outside yourself or like you don't exist)
Fear of losing control or going crazy
Paresthesias (numbness or tingling sensations) in face, extremities or body
    Chills or hot flushes
    Skin losing color
    Blushing or skin blotches
Urgently needing to urinate or defecate
    Inappropriate/Disturbed thoughts
Muscle pain, especially in neck or shoulders

    ...and possibly many more!"
