I've read, 15 or higher. The higher the better.
It depends on your skin type and sun exposure you get.
The advice I've had is that you should wear a high protection (30 SPF) that goes on easily and without difficulty or mess.
Applying a too high SPF which is gluggy and difficult to apply is worse than a lower strength one that you can happily apply as needed.
